W.C.W. (Willie) Chiang is senior vice president, Refining, Marketing, Transportation and Commercial for ConocoPhillips. Chiang has 30 years of oil and natural gas experience focusing on the Downstream business.

After being named senior vice president, Refining, Marketing and Transportation in 2008, Chiang added responsibility for Commerical operations in 2010. He previously served as Commercial’s senior vice president in 2007, responsible for optimizing the value of the company’s assets through supply and trading of its commodity portfolio. His prior executive assignments include serving as president, Americas Supply and Trading, and as president, Downstream Strategy, Integration and Specialty Businesses.

Chiang has also served as manager of ConocoPhillips refineries in Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as general manager/vice president of Western Region Refining.

Chiang is a member of the executive board of directors for the Society of Performing Arts in Houston, serves on the American Petroleum Institute’s Downstream Committee and is a board member of Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics (LEAP).

Chiang was born in 1960 in Corning, N.Y. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1981 and completed the 2004 Advanced Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
