Chris currently teaches seventh-grade mathematics and eighth-grade Geometry at Creekside Park Junior High. He began teaching nine years ago and taught for eight years at North Shore Middle School.
His classroom reflects a balanced approach to student centered instruction, 21st century skill development and classic direct instruction. He incorporates new techniques into his lessons like flipped classroom instruction to assist his students in grasping complex math concepts. Chris also incorporates real-world applications and hands-on activities to help students connect the concepts to the world around them.
Throughout his career, he has coached soccer, basketball and football and has also served as team leader, math department chair and a mentor to new teachers. He was also honored to receive both the Teacher of the Year award and a Galena Park ISD Dazzling Diamond award.
Chris is a graduate of Bowling Green State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education. He also has his Masters of Education in Administration from Lamar University.
