Texas College Preparatory Academies

Katlin (Katie) Pinelli is a math teacher at iSchool High Creekside, where she teaches Algebra I, Geometry and dual credit math courses including College Algebra (MATH 1314) and Trigonometry (MATH 1316). She holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in mathematics from Sam Houston State University and has spent the past 13 years teaching math from sixth grade through Calculus in public, private, college and charter settings.

Pinelli tailors her instruction to how each student thinks, inviting them to “show me what you want to do” and building on their own approaches. By combining one-on-one support with targeted small-group instruction, she has helped all of her Algebra I students pass the state End-of-Course exam, with half achieving the Mastery distinction, and honor graduates frequently cite her as an inspiration. Since joining iSchool High Creekside as the campus’s sole math teacher when it opened in 2022, she has helped grow the dual credit math program, led campus professional development and collaborated on schoolwide systems. She has been named Teacher of the Year for her campus, earned a designation from the Texas Education Agency, been honored as Teacher of the Year across all iSchools, and sponsors a weekly art club for students.
