Charles Reed is a high school calculus and algebra teacher at Spring Woods High School in Spring Branch ISD. A graduate of Rice University, he has experience teaching at both public and private schools at the middle and high school levels.
Recognized for his track record of high student achievement, Charles is designated at the district level as a “Most Effective” and an “Extended Impact Teacher.” In this role, he teaches the maximum number of students, ensuring that all have the opportunity to succeed and has successfully managed classes as large as 57 students while maintaining high levels of student success. He also collaborates with a community volunteer program to bring retired engineers into his classroom to tutor and inspire his students.
Outside the classroom, Charles served on the Campus Improvement Team and District Improvement Team. He has presented professional development sessions for other teachers at campus and district levels. Charles also serves on the National Honor Society Faculty Council at his school. As a “Teaching Excellence Mentor” and “Coordinating Teacher,” he supports college graduates aspiring to enter the teaching profession. Additionally, he sponsors the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club and conducts prospective student interviews for Rice University Admissions.
In recognition of his dedication, Charles has received The Association of Texas Professional Educators Volunteer Service Award and is a three-time winner of “Teacher of the Year.”
