ConocoPhillips in partnership with the Houston Astros recognized Melanie Jackson, a teacher at Houston’s B.F. Adam Elementary School, as Math Teacher of the Year in 2017. Her reward included a dream trip to the Astros’ West Palm Beach spring training facility. The ConocoPhillips Math Teacher of the Month program recognizes teachers for exceeding expectations in support of students in their classrooms. Every month during the baseball regular season, one of the honored teachers is recognized during an Astros home game for their part in helping students excel in the study of mathematics. At the end of each season, one of the teachers is honored as Math Teacher of the Year.
