Neighborhood Eat & Meet The CAC has hosted an annual Neighborhood Eat & Meet event since 2000.
Beautification At the suggestion of the CAC and through work with the Yellowstone River and Parks Association, the refinery has begun beautification of its property. Since 1999, the effort has enhanced the environment around the refinery and engaged with a community and environmental group. The initial effort was on property along the freeway as it passes south by the refinery and Glacier Pipeline area. Additionally, a strategic plan has been created to focus on beautification efforts around other areas of the refinery including its front entrance. See the project schedule (17KB .PDF document).
Additionally, CAC members have observed and participated in mock emergency drills by volunteering as observers at hospitals, the command center and various field locations. The CAC has provided input and feedback to Billings refinery associated with the federally mandated Risk Management Process and acted as a sounding board for Yellowstone County agencies and businesses as they developed a community-wide communication plan for the general public.
