Rodeo Workshop

RODEO, CALIFORNIA WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS

Through its partnership with the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project, ConocoPhillips hosted its eleventh energy education workshop for teachers in Rodeo, Calif. at the company’s Rodeo refinery.

After a welcome from Rand Swenson, Rodeo refinery manager, 48 teachers spent the day learning how they can incorporate energy into their classrooms through interactive science experiments and games. Teachers also received helpful tips to conserve energy at their schools and learned about current energy issues as well as different forms of energy.

Prior to the workshop, many teachers had limited energy resources in their classrooms. After leaving the workshop, teachers will return to their classrooms with energy curriculum materials, science experiments and games to share with their students and fellow educators.

ConocoPhillips will host a total of 24 energy workshops across the United States during 2008.
