PONCA CITY, OKLAHOMA WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS
ConocoPhillips and the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project continued their effort to educate teachers about energy at their energy workshop in Ponca City, Okla. on September 16. More than fifty elementary, middle and high school teachers attended the event to learn more about energy and methods of incorporating energy awareness in the classroom.
NEED’s energy education trainers Keith Etheridge, Vernon Kimball and Melanie Harper taught teachers about different forms of energy, the importance of conservation and the energy industry. Teachers conducted hands-on experiments and took home energy information, curriculum materials and science kits to use in their classes and share with colleagues.
The Ponca City workshop was the fifteenth of 24 planned in 2008, in an effort by ConocoPhillips and NEED to help teachers educate their students about energy.
