ConocoPhillips believes that we all have a responsibility to use energy wisely.

The company is committed to energy efficiency and is taking several steps to further efficiency, including supporting higher fuel efficiency vehicles, making its refineries more efficient and working with automakers to provide lubricants that enhance energy efficiency.

The government can support energy conservation by establishing a national policy to increase fuel efficiency in automobiles, and corporate citizens can be efficient in their energy usage in buildings, manufacturing processes and industrial vehicles.

The public also is key in energy conservation. Energy can be conserved at home, by turning down the thermostat and hot water heaters and checking door and window seals. In the car, checking tire pressure, carpooling and planning driving routes, changing driving habits, and supporting higher fuel efficiency standards.

Across our nation, people are working hard to strengthen America's energy security, environmental quality and economic vitality in partnerships that enhance energy efficiency and productivity; bring clean, reliable and affordable energy technologies to the marketplace; and make a difference in the everyday lives of Americans by enhancing their energy choices and their quality of life.
