More than 100 Tucson residents gathered at the Marriott University Park Hotel near the University of Arizona campus on Wednesday, Sept. 19, to discuss energy issues ranging from energy security, conservation and alternative fuels to renewable energy sources such as solar power.
Tucson’s Conversation on Energy panelists included Bill Berry, executive vice president, ConocoPhillips; Colette Reynolds, manager of non-conventional gas, ConocoPhillips; Katharine Kent, governor-appointee for the Arizona Solar Energy Advisory Council (ASAC); Amanda Ormond, principal of the Ormond Group, LLC; and Dr. Joseph H. Simmons, department head of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Arizona. The town hall meeting was moderated by Glenn Hamer, president and chief executive officer of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACOCI).
