The historic Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel in Scranton was the setting for a conversation about the state’s and nation’s energy future on Wednesday, May 16. Hosted by ConocoPhillips, The University of Scranton and The Pennsylvania State University, more than 110 residents of northeast Pennsylvania shared their views on energy issues and listened to a panel of experts as a part of the Conversation on Energy Scranton.
In addition to two panelists representing ConocoPhillips – John Lowe, executive vice president, exploration and production, and Colette Reynolds, manager, non-conventional gas – representatives from local and statewide organizations were invited to serve on the panel and share their perspectives on energy. The panelists included Gene Barr, vice president, political and regulatory affairs, Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry; Eric Epstein, board member, Sustainable Energy Fund of Central Eastern Pennsylvania; and Brian Hill, president and chief executive officer, Pennsylvania Environmental Council. The meeting was moderated by Joseph Dreisbach, Ph.D., dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, The University of Scranton.
