About 370 residents from communities throughout Wyoming gathered in Cheyenne on Wednesday, June 13, to discuss the state’s and nation’s energy future. Co-hosted by ConocoPhillips and the University of Wyoming, the town hall meeting called on residents to share their views on energy issues and to gain insight and information from a panel of experts. With support from 26 community partners, business leaders, key industry influencers and concerned residents came together to exchange ideas on a variety of energy topics and viable ways to secure the future of U.S. energy.
Ryan Lance, president, exploration and production – Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, and Willie Chiang, senior vice president, commercial, represented ConocoPhillips on the panel. Other panelists included local energy experts Ken Hamilton, executive vice president, Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation; Andrea Quiroz, state director, Nature Conservancy of Wyoming; and Rob Hurless, energy and telecommunications advisor, Office of Governor Dave Freudenthal. The meeting was moderated by Dr. Thomas Buchanan, president, University of Wyoming.
