ConocoPhillips to Expand Marketing in the Rockies
Agreement signed with K&G Petroleum to brand 50 stations Conoco
HOUSTON, November 28, 2005 -- ConocoPhillips Company announced today it has signed an agreement with K&G Petroleum to convert 50 former BP-branded stations to the Conoco brand in the Denver metro area.
“Denver has been and will continue to be an important core growth area for ConocoPhillips,” said Clayton Reasor, president of U.S. Marketing for ConocoPhillips. “We are pleased to be building on our relationship with K&G and growing our Conoco brand in the area.”
K&G, a ConocoPhillips marketer since 1995, recently purchased the stations from BP Products North America.
“Back in 1995, K&G Petroleum started with just one Conoco retail station and now we will have more than 80 sites flying the ConocoPhillips flag,” said Mike Haynes, operations manager with K&G. “K&G is pleased to continue its relationship with ConocoPhillips and looks forward to delivering our customers high quality products and services.”
The station conversions to the ConocoPhillips image will begin in late November and be completed by early 2006.
The newly branded Conoco stations will sell ConocoPhillips’ Quality PROclean™ Gasolines, among the highest quality available in the market and recognized as Top Tier gasolines by the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers. The Top Tier program was established by some of the world’s largest automakers to identify companies who provide a higher level of detergency that helps to prevent deposits on intake values and fuel injectors.
