Exploration and Production ConocoPhillips has an ownership interest in two producing blocks in Ecuador, as well as two exploration blocks.
The company’s interest in the Block 7, located in the Oriente basin, was acquired in 2002. Production began in 2001, and the participation contract term ends in 2010. During 2005, six wells were drilled while in 2006, 10 wells were drilled.
An interest in the Oriente basin Block 21 was acquired in 2002. Production in the Yuralpa field commenced in 2003. The production contract term ends in 2021. In 2005, development continued with 11 wells successfully drilled followed by the successful drilling of 13 wells in 2006.
Blocks 23 and 24 are exploration blocks that have been under force majeure for seven years. No activity is planned during 2007.
