US Marketing In the United States, ConocoPhillips mainly markets gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel and convenience products through approximately 8,750 branded outlets.

These outlets include company-owned and company-operated retail outlets, company-owned and dealer-operated retail outlets, and outlets owned and operated by independent dealers and wholesale marketers. The majority of these outlets are branded with the Phillips 66®, Conoco® or 76® trademarks and feature gaso¬lines that have been recognized as TOP TIER by leading automakers since 2004 (www.toptiergas.com). These operations are strategically served by the company’s refineries and transportation systems.

Wholesale Marketing
In its wholesale operations, ConocoPhillips utilizes a network of marketers and dealers operating 7,720 outlets. Refined products are marketed on both a branded and unbranded basis. The company has made a decision to emphasize the wholesale channel of trade. Excluding bulk transactions and product supply activity, its 2007 wholesale volumes were approximately 315 MMBBL.
In addition to automotive gasoline and diesel fuel, the company produces and markets jet fuel and aviation gasoline through independent marketers and dealers at approximately 590 Phillips 66® branded locations, as well as through unbranded and military channels.

Retail Marketing
ConocoPhillips owns and operates approximately 330 retail outlets under the Phillips 66®, Conoco® and 76® brands. The company-operated retail outlets are focused in 10 states, mainly in the Mid-Continent, Rocky Mountains and West Coast regions. Retail fuel volumes for 2007 were approximately 15 MMBBL.

Additionally, CFJ Properties, the company’s 50/50 joint venture with Flying J, owns and operates 110 truck travel plazas that carry Conoco®, Flying J or both brands.

In December 2006, ConocoPhillips announced its intention to divest its U.S. company-owned and company-operated retail outlets and its U.S. company-owned and dealer-operated retail outlets to new or existing wholesale marketers. ConocoPhillips sold 54 sites during 2007, and 766 company- and dealer-operated sites were classified as held for sale at Dec. 31, 2007. ConocoPhillips expects to complete disposition of most of its U.S. retail assets in 2008.
