Sigmund L. (Sig) Cornelius is senior vice president, Finance, and chief financial officer for ConocoPhillips.

Cornelius joined Conoco in 1980 in the Natural Gas and Gas Processing organization. Since then he has held numerous positions in the Midstream, Upstream and Finance organizations including serving as President Conoco Canada Ltd, President Dubai Petroleum Company, Treasurer – Conoco, VP Upstream Business Development, President Global Gas and President Lower 48 E&P. Most recently, Cornelius served as senior vice president, Planning, Strategy & Corporate Affairs.

He currently serves on the board of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC, DCP Midstream, DCP Midstream Partners, National Association of Manufacturers, Council of the Americas and the Management Committee for the Foster Creek Christina Lake Heavy Oil joint venture with Encana. Additionally he is a member of the board for the Theatre Under The Stars and the Yellowstone Park Foundation.

A native of Iowa, Cornelius graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University in 1976, and earned master of science degrees in management from both Purdue and Stanford University.
