W.C.W. (Willie) Chiang is senior vice president, Refining, Marketing and Transportation, for ConocoPhillips.
Chiang started his career in refining with engineering, maintenance, project management, operating, and refining management roles for Chevron, independent refiner Powerine Oil Company, and Unocal/Tosco/Phillips. He has been refinery manager of ConocoPhillips refineries in Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as general manager/vice president of western region refining. Chiang was named president, downstream strategy, integration and specialty businesses in 2003, and president, Americas supply and trading in 2005. Before being named to his current position, he served as senior vice president, Commercial, with responsibility for optimizing the value of the company’s assets through supply and trading of its commodity portfolio, since 2007.
Chiang currently serves on the board of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC. He is a member of the executive board of directors for the Society of Performing Arts. He also serves on the API Downstream Committee and has been involved with the NPRA throughout his career.
Chiang was born in 1960 in Corning, N.Y. He received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1981 and completed the 2004 Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. |
