New Hire Development

Upon accepting a job offer, a pre-arrival Web site is made available to new employees to provide them with important company information and help shorten the time it takes to integrate into the company. Within the first two weeks on the job, new hires – both university and experienced hires – receive an online checklist of required compliance training to ensure a quick transition. Within 90 days, new employees complete a global company orientation, which may be done online or in the classroom.

We incorporated a module into the global orientation that explains the concept of sustainable development, discusses our commitments and reviews how we integrate sustainable development into our day-to-day business. Case studies are used to help new employees better understand how the concepts apply to their jobs.

Additional training is available through our core curriculum to provide the necessary professional skills and knowledge to be productive at ConocoPhillips. Critical job-specific and technical training is provided by an employee’s business unit.
