ConocoPhillips has provided $5 million in hurricane-related contributions to rebuild and support communities on the U.S. Gulf Coast that were devastated by hurricanes Ike and Gustav in 2008. With approximately 6,000 ConocoPhillips employees living in or near Ike’s path, the company acted swiftly to help its surrounding communities. Funds were distributed to the American Red Cross, the United Way, the Salvation Army and the Texas Disaster Relief Fund. Additionally, the company’s Sweeny refinery in Old Ocean, Texas, permanently donated 30 generators to Brazoria County to assist with hurricane recovery efforts.
