Exploration and Production

ConocoPhillips is Alaska’s largest oil and gas producer and the largest owner of state and federal exploration leases, with approximately 1.8 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2009. Approximately 0.8 million of those acres are in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPR-A). 

ConocoPhillips’ business in the U.S. Lower 48 is based on a diverse set of assets located in major basins from the Rocky Mountains to the Gulf of Mexico. In 2009, 487 net wells were completed, and an average 497,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day were produced from 21,389 net wells.


Refining and Marketing

Refining
ConocoPhillips is the second-largest refiner in the United States, with crude oil processing capacity of approximately 2.0 MMBD; and the world’s fourth-largest nongovernment-controlled refiner, with crude oil processing capacity of nearly 2.7 MMBD globally. Chemicals

ConocoPhillips’ Midstream business primarily is conducted through a 50 percent equity investment in DCP Midstream, LLC, as well as directly held assets and other equity affiliates.

Specialty Products

ConocoPhillips manufactures and markets specialty products, including petroleum coke, waxes, solvents and pipeline flow improvers, which are sold to commercial, industrial and wholesale buyers worldwide.

Power Generation

ConocoPhillips also owns a gas-fired cogeneration plant in Orange, Texas, as well as a 50 percent operating interest in Sweeny Cogeneration LP, a joint venture near the Sweeny Refinery Complex.
